Kaspersky Safe Kids focuses on monitoring and Safe Search: it enforces YouTube Safe Search, logs which videos a child watched, and can block apps or web categories. Its 2024 update added more detailed YouTube watch monitoring.
There are two big caveats. First, it is search-centric — recommendations, autoplay, and Shorts pass through untouched, and there is no way to whitelist channels. Second, Kaspersky products were banned from sale in the US in 2024, with software updates ceasing in late September 2024, making it a non-starter for US families. Watchly is built for the model Kaspersky cannot offer: curated, ad-free viewing, fully supported.
Kaspersky Safe Kids enforces YouTube Safe Search, monitors searches and (per its 2024 update) which videos were watched, and can block apps/web categories. It cannot whitelist channels or approve individual videos, and Safe Search only applies to active searches — not recommendations or autoplay.
