Before you start
Can my child keep their favourite YouTube videos?
Yes. Add videos from the creators they already enjoy, or review a channel or playlist in a batch. Video availability can vary, so try their favourites during your trial.
How is Watchly different from YouTube Kids?
YouTube Kids has an Approved content only mode too. Watchly combines child libraries, AI transcript reviews and viewing limits in a separate player. Neither child player has a comment section.
Can my child search for new videos?
With discovery off, children choose from the library you provide. If you enable discovery, videos that meet your rules can be added automatically within your daily allowance; flagged requests wait for your review.
How do I get started?
Create an account, add a child profile and choose a few favourite videos. Set a daily limit, then open the child view together. Add more children and videos when you’re ready.
Does Watchly block regular YouTube or other apps?
Watchly’s rules apply inside Watchly on your family’s phones, tablets and computers. Use device-level parental controls to restrict other apps or browsers; Watchly is not a device lock.
What does the AI review?
AI reviews available transcripts to flag spoken themes and explain its findings. It can miss context and visual content, so you decide what fits your child. Reviews do not remove YouTube ads or creator sponsorships.
What is included in the free trial?
A no-card trial allows up to 20 distinct videos across your family. Your signup page shows the trial duration and billing terms; current plans show the child-profile allowance. No-card trials do not charge you automatically.
What happens when screen time ends?
Watchly stops playback when your child reaches their daily limit or a scheduled break. Nothing starts automatically after a video; they can choose another library video while time remains. Use the trial to find limits that fit your family.
