How does the AI actually decide what to block?

The AI reads the video's captions or transcript, the actual spoken content, and scores it across categories like violence, language, scary themes, and risky behavior. Your thresholds decide what blocks, what warns, and what clears. The scores are visible, so you can always see why a video was flagged.

What if the AI blocks a video I'd actually allow?

You can override any AI decision. Force-allow a specific video regardless of its score, or force-block one that cleared. Overrides are per-family and stick, your kid won't keep seeing that video re-queued for approval.

Is the AI perfect? Can something inappropriate still get through?

No, the AI is not perfect, nothing that scans language automatically is. It catches most clear-cut violations and queues borderline cases for your review. That's why overrides exist, and why every video is still sitting inside a library you control. The filter is a layer, not the only layer.

Does the filter work on videos without subtitles?

Most YouTube videos have auto-generated captions, which the classifier uses. If a video has no captions at all, Watchly queues it for your manual review instead of guessing. You decide whether to allow it.

Can I set stricter rules for my younger kid than my older kid?

Yes. Family rules set the ceiling, and each kid profile can tighten from there. Your 5-year-old can block everything above a G-level threshold while your 11-year-old has a looser threshold, same family, same filter, different limits per kid.
